The Bobby Scheme
The Bobby Scheme provides a free Home Security service, providing and fitting devices such as new locks, door chains and door viewers free of charge.
Since its launch the Partnership has made over 500 grants to a whole range of projects throughout the county, including supporting the starting of youth clubs, sporting teams, skateboard parks, elderly peoples’ drop-in centres and policing and community days.
The Bobby Scheme provides a free Home Security service, providing and fitting devices such as new locks, door chains and door viewers free of charge. The scheme has helped over 20,000 residents improve their Home Security.
Partnership funding is available for any initiative which improves the quality of life to members of our communities. We support various community schemes – some being so successful that they have spread to other places in our country.
Any community group can apply. The main aim is to allow local police officers and other members of the community to develop good ideas, normally based around Crime Prevention, Road Safety or Drug Awareness programmes.

Partnership funding can be made available to any community based group in Bedfordshire. Over 500 community based grants have been awarded since the Partnership commenced.
Thank you for setting up this wonderful scheme, the Bobby’s visit has really given me confidence.
Having been burgled, I was getting scared to go out but the work carried out by the Bobby Scheme has made me feel safe.
The whole scheme is a remarkable initiative. It gave my mother back the feeling of security in her own home.
