Community Projects

Find out about some of the community projects we have funded, and apply for funding for your project.

Partnership funding is available for any initiative which improves the quality of life to members of our communities.

We support various community schemes, some being so successful that they have spread to other places in our county.

To make an application for funding, or for further information please visit the funding requests section of our site.

Below is a selection of projects funded by Bedfordshire Police Partnership Trust which have made a positive impact on the more vulnerable members of our community.

Volunteer Community Task Force - A new Volunteer Community Task Force for the Sandy and Biggleswade local community was launched at Sandy Library on 2 March 2012.

The Task Force provides free snow clearing and gardening services for people aged 60+ in the local community, initially covering Sandy and Biggleswade and surrounding villages.

As the volunteers are mainly young and unemployed, it is a great opportunity for them to gain work experience and improve their chances of finding employment.

The Partnership has supported this project with a grant to purchase tools.

Marston Graffiti Project -  The Trust, together with the local Parish Council and StreetWatch supported a Youth initiative in Marston Moretayne to enable a Graffiti exhibition to be painted in an underpass on the new bypass of the A421.

A professional graffiti artist supported by young local people transformed the drab underpass with a vibrant mural.

Mr Olly Martins, the Police and Crime Commissioner, and Geoff Comb, the Trust Administrator celebrated the opening in 2013.

Check that caller -  We all suffer from unwanted callers at the door but sometimes these people upset the elderly and on occasions they are criminals posing as bogus officials.

To try and help, the Partnership has produced ‘Check That Caller’ door stickers. They have been so popular we have just had to order another 5,000!
